revolution they say, starts with you!!! |
One good turn deserves another they say, but not until the good boy turns God, this becomes the popular lyrics in the mouth of Zimbabweans over the past few months. And of course set the tone for the beginning of a new era, you get no gift for guessing right, Robert Mugabe has to step down. The longest-serving president in the history of the Zims, but you might be forgiven for assuming he is the longest-serving president in Africa no thanks to his 37years grip on power. Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos stepped aside in September after 38 years of rule, and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo (Equatorial Gunie) 38yrs, Paul Biya (Cameroon) 35yrs, Denis Sassou-Nguesso (Republic of Congo)33yrs --nonconsecutive, are 3 of the current serving African nation rulers with the citizen enjoying mixed fortunes over the years due to poor development and health services, and this is a general issue across Africa.

But lately we witnessed what it means to be united with one strong voice when my 'NO' becomes your 'NO', and this echoes throughout the country to fight for what they want and stand for, without getting worried of a minority group who might have another opinion. The whole country stood firmly behind the new revolution and fought strongly, but one thing we should take notice is that the savior rather than a dictator.

massive march against mugabe's reign |
the struggle started from the top to bottom, to the rare ranks, to the street hawkers, everybody had one thing in mind, Change. Perhaps the most glaring crime Robert Mugabe committed was that his stay was long overdue and should have carefully relinquished power honorarily and bow out as a
This is not descrediting what Robert Mugabe fought for during trying times in zimbabwe, and making them arguably a country with the most literates in Africa, is by no coincidence that those literate got their acts together and fought bloodlessly in arguably the most well planned coup of all time, caught him off guard and isolate him to negotiate the future of the country, which obviously he might not be part of just like I highlighted in one my past articles,
The coward system and

I love Mugabe and trust me as an African who doesn't, and we will surely miss him, not only for his regular jibes at the united nations and other western countries for destroying Africa, or his funny quotes, or maybe his way of taking swipe at every reporter that intends to rake him off his stands, but his legacy and policy which has kept Zimbabwe strong even as glaring loopholes shows all around.

Its no new saying that swords and guns don't win wars but a well-planned tactics carried out with heart, body, and soul, I am very sure the Zims might have watched carefully what happened in Libya, Syria, Afghanistan and other countries who allowed the west to teach them what to do and later turn their homes to shred. Especially Libya who are in Africa and got a lot of attention due to their handling of Muammar Gaddafi their to-date, Best leader to ever grace the political throne, with countless of things going as planned and lack of western influence on both their economy and politics, but now in tatters and all gone.

This has to be a template other African countries must follow, rally if it comes to voicing your taught, don't worry about them not listening, set aside any ethnic barrier or religious differences and fight as a common citizen of a true nation with values and pride at stake. The Zims ousted their
longest serving president peacefully and carefully without bloodshed and now they are enjoying the fruit of their unanimous effort and struggles, with nobody homeless, nobody kidnapped nor killed but lawful rally, it all starts with a single protest and it begins with you.

''only the dreamer knows the details of his nightmares..'' |
My question for my brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe is this, is it wise on their part to oust a 93 years old man only to elect another man of over 70years and surely past his official prime as a civil servant to lead on to the promise land. Obviously, a good choice if he is there to steady the ship only to pass the baton to the more younger and future thinking youths to lead the country, just as is the case even in my native country and other African countries alike?
